The Environment Laboratory at Behala is the first within MSK to receive OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation. Occupational Health & Safety Assessment System (OHSAS) is an International safety and health management system which helps the organization to control health and safety risks in its work environment. The MOEF (Ministry of Environment and Forest) has now made it mandatory for all it’s recognized laboratories to have this accreditation. The audit and certification was carried out by DNV which covered extensive audit of the safety processes and practices followed in the laboratory as well as in the field. This certificate is valid for 3 years.
